Abstract
The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates optimizing handover in connection with an access network. An access network can include at least one device exchanges data therewith, wherein the device communicates with at least one access station within the access network to exchange data. A rules engine can create a user-defined rule based upon at least one of a resource requirement for a device application or a user input related to a quality of service (QoS) experience with the device. The rules engine can enforce the user-defined rule to employ handover related to the device and at least one of an access station within the access network or a disparate access network.
Claims20
A system that facilitates optimizing handover in connection an access network that includes at least one device that exchanges data therewith, wherein the device communicates with at least one access satation within the access network to exchange data, comprising:
- a rules engine that creates a user-defined rule based upon at least one of a resource requirement for a device application or a user input related to a quality of service (QoS) experience with the device;
- and
- the rules engine that enforces the user-defined rule to employ handover related to the device and at least one of an access station within the access network or a disparate access network.
A computer-implemented method that facilitates customizing handover associated with a device and a network based upon a user preference or an application requirement, comprising:
- receiving a user input associated with defining a portion of criteria reflective of an experience with a device that exchanges data with a wireless environment;
- creating a user-defined rule for a handover technique within the wireless environment based upon the experience;
- adapting the user-defined rule based upon at least one of a network-based rule associated with handover, a device-based rule associated with handover, or a monitored experience with the device;
- performing handover by enforcing the user-defined rule within the wireless environment between at least one of 1) the device and an access network;
- or 2) the device and an access station
A computer-implemented system that facilitates employing a user-defined rule that enables a handover in connection with a device, an access network, or an access station, comprising:
- means for exchanging data between an access network and at least one device exchanges data therewith;
- means for communicating data between the device and at least one access station within the access network;
- means for creating a user-defined rule based upon at least one of a resource requirement for a device application or a user input related to a quality of service (QoS) experience with the device;
- and
- means for enforcing the user-defined rule to employ handover related to the device and at least one of an access station within the access network or a disparate access network.
