Abstract
System and method for interference reduction in a broadband wireless access (BWA) network are disclosed. A mobile station performs a recursive process to update channel estimates of interfering channels on a symbol-by-symbol basis for use in canceling interference from data subcarriers received through two or more antennas.
Claims20
A mobile station that operates in the presence of one or more interfering base stations comprising:
- preamble symbol processing circuitry to identify one or more interfering base stations from a received preamble symbol;
- and
- a recursive filter to perform a recursive filtering process using pilot subcarriers of data symbols received through two or more antennas to update channel estimates on a symbol-by-symbol basis for a main channel and one or more interfering channels associated with the one or more interfering base stations.
A method for reducing interference from one or more interfering base stations comprising:
- identifying one or more interfering base stations from a received preamble symbol;
- and
- performing a recursive filtering process using pilot subcarriers of data symbols received through two or more antennas to update channel estimates on a symbol-by-symbol basis for a main channel and one or more interfering channels associated with the one or more interfering base stations.
