Abstract
An apparatus and method of providing an apparatus, the apparatus including: a display including a plurality of layers including a display layer and a first protective layer overlaying the display layer wherein the display layer includes at least one discontinuity and the protective layer is continuous over the discontinuity in the display layer; and a user input portion associated with the area of the first protective layer overlaying the discontinuity in the display layer and configured such that actuation of the user input portion enables a switch to be actuated.
Claims26
An apparatus comprising:
- a display comprising a plurality of layers including a display layer and a first protective layer overlaying the display layer wherein the display layer comprises at least one discontinuity and the protective layer is continuous over the discontinuity in the display layer;
- and
- a user input portion associated with the area of the first protective layer overlaying the discontinuity in the display layer and configured such that actuation of the user input portion enables a switch to be actuated.
A method comprising:
- providing a display comprising a plurality of layers including a display layer and a first protective layer overlaying the display layer wherein the display layer comprises at least one discontinuity and the protective layer is continuous over the discontinuity in the display layer;
- and
- providing a user input portion associated with the area of the first protective layer overlaying the discontinuity in the display layer and configured such that actuation of the user input portion enables a switch to be actuated.
