A method for transmitting magnetic resonance signals from an antenna arrangement in a magnetic resonance system, comprising the steps of:
- with an antenna arrangement comprising a plurality of reception antenna elements receiving magnetic resonance signals from an examination subject with the respective antenna elements;
- supplying different combinations of said magnetic resonance signals from said reception antenna elements to respective combination networks and, in each combination network, combining the magnetic resonance signals supplied thereto to form a mode, with each of said combination networks forming a different mode from the modes respectively formed by others of said combination networks;
- in each of a plurality of frequency multiplexers, superimposing, by frequency multiplexing, at least some of said modes to form a common transmission signal;
- transmitting the respective common transmission signals to a first channel switching matrix comprising a plurality of input channels and a plurality of output channels, and a control input, and in said first channel switching matrix connecting, dependent on a control signal supplied to said control input, at least one of said transmission lines through said first channel switching matrix to one of said output channels;
- by frequency demultiplexing, filtering the modes that were superimposed in said common transmission signal out of said common transmission signal at said output of said first switching matrix;
- and
- from a second channel switching matrix, supplying the modes that were filtered out of said common transmission channel to a magnetic resonance signal processing device.
