Abstract
The present invention concerns a valve for a container, the valve comprising: a grommet defining a channel with an inlet end and an outlet end; a stem, slideably arranged in said channel; the grommet comprising a first part provided at said inlet end and a second part provided at said outlet end, wherein the first part has a hardness greater than the hardness of the second part.
Claims15
A valve (1) for a container comprising:
- a grommet (2) defining a channel (3) with an inlet end (4) and an outlet end (5);
- a stem (6) slideably arranged in the channel (3);
- the grommet (2) comprising a first part (7) provided at said inlet end (4) and a second part (8) provided at said outlet end (5), characterized in that said first part (7) has a hardness higher than the hardness of said second part (8).
A valve according to any of the preceding claims, wherein at least said first part is hydrophobic.
A valve according to any preceding claims, wherein at least the first part (7) or the second part (8) of the grommet is made of a thermoplastic material, preferably polypropylene or polyethylene.
A valve according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said second part (8) of the grommet (2) comprises at least one inwardly sealing lip (13) for providing sealing contact with the stem.
A valve according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said first part (7) is provided with an outwardly extending sealing lip (10) arranged to provide sealing with a container cup (9) wherein the valve is provided.
A valve according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said stem (6) further comprises at least a first (15) and a second (16) resilient lip section for providing sealing contact with the first part (7) of the grommet (2), said first resilient lip section (15) being larger in diameter and more resilient than said second resilient lip section (16).
A valve according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said stem (6) further comprises at least one circular sealing lip (17) assuring sealing between said stem (6) and the second part (8) of the grommet (2).
A valve according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the stem (6) further comprises at least one dispensing channel (14), said channel comprises an inlet (14a) and an outlet (14b), the inlet (14a) being arranged such that contact with the second part (8) of the grommet (2) is avoided.
Valve according to any of the preceding claims, wherein there is provided a housing (37) for mounting a dip tube (38) at the base of the grommet (2) such that the pressurized fluid can reach the outlet passage via said tube.
An assembly for a container according to any of the preceding claims, comprising:
- a valve (1) according to the preceding claims, and
- a foam applicator (20) comprising a body (22) with a tilting lever (23) for manual tilting, said body having a fixed tilting section (24) opposite to a flexible bellow part (25) around a dispensing channel (14) of the stem (6),
- wherein said foam applicator is arranged to be snapped onto the container's cup (9).
