Abstract
A vehicle drive system uses multi-fuel engines to provide mechanical energy as an electric generator. The electric generator provides electrical energy to an electric motor which in turn provides mechanical energy to the drive train of a vehicle. The electric generator also provides electric energy to storage batteries. Electrical energy may be provided from the storage batteries to the electric motor as needed.
Claims6
A drive system for a vehicle comprising:
- a rotary-type internal combustion engine;
- an electric generator, mechanically connected to said rotary-type internal combustion engine, for producing electrical energy;
- an electric motor electrically connected to said electric generator for transforming said electrical energy from said electric generator into rotating mechanical force;
- at least one electrical energy storage battery connected to said electric generator;
- said electric motor having a mechanical connection to the drive system of the vehicle for providing sufficient rotating mechanical force to move the vehicle;
- means for providing additional electrical energy from said at least one electrical energy storage battery to said electric motor as needed.

- a rotary-type internal combustion engine;
- an electric generator, mechanically connected to said rotary-type internal combustion engine for producing electrical energy;
- an electric motor electrically connected to said electric generator for transforming said electrical energy into rotating mechanical force which rotating mechanical force is transferred to the vehicle drive train for moving the vehicle;
- at least one electrical storage battery connected to said electric generator;
- means for selecting from the following power flow options:
- said rotary-type internal combustion engine to said electric generator to said
- electric motor to vehicle drive train;
- or
- said rotary-type internal combustion engine to said electric generator to said one or more storage batteries means for providing additional electrical energy said one or more storage batteries to said electric motor.

- two rotary-type internal combustion engines;
- two electric generators mechanically connected to each of two said rotary-type internal combustion engines, for producing electrical energy;
- an electric motor electrically connected to both of said two electric generators for transforming said electrical energy into rotating mechanical force;
- at least one rechargeable electrical energy storage battery connected to each of said electric generators;
- said electric motor mechanically connected to the drive system of the vehicle for providing sufficient rotating force to move the vehicle;
- means for providing additional electrical energy from said at least one electrical energy storage batteries to said electric motor as needed.
