Abstract
A stab-resistant insert for a protective textile can include at least one metal layer of a fabric of metal wires or metal cords and at least one textile layer. The textile layer is in contact with and is connected to the metal layer and the textile layer can be a non-woven material. The stab-resistant insert advantageously combines a high level of stab-resistance with a high degree of comfort.
Claims16
A stab-resistant insert for protective textile, said insert comprising:
- at least one metal layer of a woven fabric with metal cords or metal wires;
- and
- at least one textile layer;
- said metal cords or metal wires being the only stab-resistant elements;
- said textile layer being in contact with and being connected to said metal layer by an adhesive;
- wherein said textile layer comprises a non-woven material;
- wherein the insert is formed without plate-like elements.
A stab-resistant insert for protective textile, said insert consisting essentially of:
- at least one metal layer of a woven fabric with metal cords or metal wires;
- and
- at least one textile layer;
- said textile layer being in contact with and being connected to said metal layer by an adhesive;
- wherein said textile layer comprises a non-woven material.
A stab-resistant insert for protective textile, said insert consisting of:
- at least one metal layer of a woven fabric with metal cords or metal wires;
- and
- at least one textile layer;
- said textile layer being in contact with and being connected to said metal layer by an adhesive;
- wherein said textile layer comprises a non-woven material.
A stab-resistant insert for protective textile, said insert comprising:
- a stab-resistant element;
- and
- one or more textile layer, wherein the one or more textile layer comprises a non-woven material;
- wherein the stab-resistant element consists of one or more metal layer of a woven fabric with metal cords or metal wires;
- wherein the one or more textile layer is in contact with and connected to said one or more metal layer by an adhesive.
A stab-resistant insert for a protective textile, said insert consisting essentially of:
- one or more, but not more than six, metal layers of a woven fabric with metal cords or metal wires, wherein the metal cords or metal wires are unidirectional;
- and
- one or more textile layers equal in number to the metal layers, wherein the one or more textile layers alternate with the metal layers;
- wherein each of the textile layers is in contact with and is connected to a neighboring metal layer by an adhesive;
- wherein each of said textile layers is a non-woven material.
A stab-resistant insert for protective textile, said insert consisting essentially of:
- one or two metal layers of a woven fabric including metal cords or metal wires, wherein the woven fabric is bidirectional;
- and
- one or two textile layers equal in number to the metal layers, wherein the one or two textile layers alternate with the metal layers;
- wherein each of the textile layers is in contact with and is connected to a neighboring metal layer by an adhesive;
- wherein each of said textile layers is a non-woven material.
