Abstract
A drive for an internal combustion engine having a predetermined take-up rate (TU) and comprising a drive pulley, a driven pulley, a shoe and an oil wet toothed belt cooperating in contact with a guiding surface of the shoe, presenting an optimised winding angle (α) of the guiding surface to decrease the power dissipated on the toothed belt.

A drive for an internal combustion engine having a predetermined take-up rate (TU) and comprising a drive pulley having a first pitch radius (Rp1), a driven pulley having a second pitch radius (Rp2), a shoe hinged about an axis (A) and a toothed belt which is oil wet and cooperating in contact with a guiding surface of said shoe, being a winding angle (α) of said guiding surface comprised between a maximum value (α′max) and a minimum value (α′min) so that:

- α′rif is the winding angle of a shoe having a guiding surface consisting of an arc of circumference having diameter D′rif equal to the difference between a centre distance (I) of said drive pulley and said driven pulley and the sum of said first and second pitch radius (Rp1, Rp2).
An optimisation method for a shoe of a synchronous drive for an internal combustion engine, said drive having a predetermined take-up rate (TU) and comprising a drive pulley having a first pitch radius (Rp1), a driven pulley having a second pitch radius (Rp2), a shoe hinged about an axis (A) and a toothed belt which is oil wet and cooperates in contact with a guiding surface of said shoe, said method comprising the step of:
