LiBOB that it is coarsely crystalline and completely soluble present as a LiBOB.(n 5-membered ring ester) complex, wherein n is between 0.01 and 5.
A process for producing a crystalline, low-dust and completely soluble LiBOB.(n 5-membered ring ester) complex having a residual solvent content of less than 50 wt. % comprising producing a crude LiBOB solution by dissolving crude LiBOB in a solvate-forming solvent, wherein the solvent contains at least one cyclic 5-membered ring ester as a substantial constituent or consists entirely thereof, separating insoluble particles of LiBOB and concentrating the resulting clear LiBOB solution to smaller volume by evaporative crystallization until solid LiBOB is precipitated, and the LiBOB is isolated by a second solid/liquid separation process.
A process for producing a crystalline, completely soluble LiBOB.(n 5-membered ring ester) complex by displacement crystallization, bringing a clear solution of LiBOB in a solvate-forming solvent containing at least one cyclic 5-membered ring ester as a substantial constituent, or consisting thereof into contact with a solvent which does not dissolve the LiBOB in its pure form to crystallize out the LiBOB crystallized in a manner known per se.
A process for producing a crystalline, low-dust and completely soluble LiBOB.(n 5-membered ring ester) complex having a residual solvent content of less than 50 wt. % comprising producing a crude LiBOB solution by dissolving crude LiBOB in a solvate-forming solvent, wherein the solvate-forming solvent contains at least one cyclic 5-membered ring ester as a substantial constituent or consists thereof, separating off insoluble particles and precipitating solid LiBOB out of the resulting clear LiBOB solution in a displacement crystallization, and isolating the LiBOB by a second solid/liquid separation process.
The process according to claim 556, wherein the non-solvate forming solvent is selected from the group consisting of pentane, hexane, heptane, cyclohexane, methyl cyclohexane, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylenes, diethyl ether, di-n-propyl ether, dibutyl ether, diisopropyl ether, methyl tert-butyl ether and methyl tert-amyl ether.
A process for producing a crystalline, completely soluble LiBOB.(n 5-membered ring ester) complex by cooling crystallization, wherein a clear LiBOB solution in a solvate-forming solvent which is saturated at a certain temperature, the solvent containing at least one cyclic 5-membered ring ester as a substantial constituent or consisting thereof, is cooled to a lower temperature such that LiBOB crystallizes out in the form of a LiBOB.(n 5-membered ring ester) complex and the crystallizate is isolated.
An electrolyte for a galvanic element comprising the LiBOB.(n 5-membered ring ester) complex of claim.
