Abstract
An image recording method includes forming an undercoat layer of an undercoat-forming ink composition containing a volatile component on a medium, and forming a color image layer of a process color ink composition on the undercoat layer in a state where the content of the volatile component remaining in the undercoat layer is 5% to 50% by mass.

An image recording method comprising:
- forming an undercoat layer of an undercoat-forming ink composition containing a volatile component on a medium, and forming a color image layer of a process color ink composition on the undercoat layer in a state where the content of the volatile component remaining in the undercoat layer is 5% to 50% by mass.
An image recording system comprising:
- an undercoat layer-forming unit that forms an undercoat layer of an undercoat-forming ink composition containing a volatile component on a medium;
- and a color image layer-forming unit that forms an color image layer of a process color ink composition on the undercoat layer in a state where the content of the volatile component remaining in the undercoat layer is 5% to 50% by mass.
