Abstract
An internal gear pump (1) for conveying a fluid by a driven pump gear wheel (3) and a ring gear (4), as a gear pair located within an enclosure, which at least partially mesh with one another. A sickle shaped part (5) is provided for sealing the free space located substantially opposite to the sealed area. A first end piece (12) and a second end piece (13) of the sickle shaped part (5) are assigned to pressure areas of the internal gear pump (1). In accordance with the invention, the two end pieces (12, 13) of the part (5) are constructed differently so as to avoid, or reduce as much as possible, both cavitations and noise.

An internal gear pump (1) for conveying a fluid through a driven pump gear wheel (3) and a ring gear (4) embedded in an enclosure (2), the pump gear wheel (3) and the ring gear (4) at least partially mesh and with a sickle shaped element (5) create a sealing area for sealing the free space, opposite to the sealing area,
- wherein a first end piece (12) of the sickle shaped element (5) is assigned to a low pressure area and the second end piece (13) of the sickle shaped element (5) is assigned to a high pressure area, and the two end pieces (12, 13) of the sickle shaped element (5) are constructed differently.
