Abstract
The described implementations relate to DVD identification. One method accesses media content from a DVD and identifies a format of the media content. The method also determines a unique identification for the media content based upon the format.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- a digital versatile disc (DVD) format module configured to identify a format of a DVD, at least in part, by searching content of the DVD for identifying aspects of the content;
- and,
- an identification module configured to determine a unique identification of the content by examining at least two portions of the content, wherein the unique identification conveys the format.
A method, comprising:
- accessing media content from a digital versatile disc (DVD);
- identifying a format of the media content;
- and,
- determining a unique identification for the media content based upon the format.

A computer-readable storage media having instructions stored thereon that when executed by a computing device cause the computing device to perform acts, comprising:
- identifying a format of media content from a digital versatile disc (DVD) by locating a specific sequence of symbols in the media content;
- based upon the identified format, referencing multiple predefined entities of the content;
- hashing data from the multiple predefined entities to generate a unique identification for the media content.
