Abstract
Systems and techniques to acquire image data. In general, in one implementation, the technique includes: acquiring image data for a plurality of areas of a scan region. The technique may further include processing the image data to determine whether an area includes one or more desired features. The technique may further include designating an area as “interesting” if it includes a desired feature, and designating an area as non-interesting if it does not include the desired feature. The areas may be sub-divided one or more times, and subdivisions may be analyzed to determine if they include a desired feature.
Claims9
A method for viewing a microscope slide on a screen, said method comprising:
- providing a microscope slide and at least one previously-captured image of said microscope slide, said at least one previously-captured image being a representation of said microscope slide at a magnification;
- presenting a plurality of objectives for viewing said microscope slide to a user, the plurality of objectives including at least a first objective corresponding to the at least one previously captured image and at least a second objective corresponding to a real-time image of the microscope slide at a magnification different from the magnification of the at least one previously captured image;
- accepting a selection from the user of the first objective or the second objective;
- and
- if the first objective is selected, displaying the corresponding previously-captured image on a screen, and
- if the second objective is selected, presenting the corresponding real-time image on said screen.
A method for presenting an image to a user of a specimen on a microscope slide at a desired magnification, said method comprising:
- capturing one or more images of a microscope slide, each of said captured images corresponding to a magnification;
- selecting a desired objective for viewing said microscope slide, the desired objective corresponding to a desired magnification;
- and
- wherein if said desired objective corresponds to one of said one or more previously-captured images, displaying said one of said one or more previously-captured images on a screen, and
- wherein if said desired objective does not correspond to one of said one or more previously-captured images, obtaining and presenting a real-time image of the microscope slide at said desired magnification on said screen.
