Abstract
Systems and methods are provided, such as those that enable identification of data flows and corresponding results in a pattern-recognition processor. In one embodiment, a system may include the pattern-recognition processor and a flow identification register, wherein a unique flow identifier for each data flow is stored in the register. The system may include a results buffer that stores the results data and the flow identifier for each data flow, so that the results data may be related to a specific data flow.
Claims32
A system, comprising:
- a pattern-recognition processor;
- a register accessible by the pattern recognition processor and configured to store a plurality of identifiers, wherein each identifier corresponds to a respective one of a plurality of data flows received by the pattern recognition processor.
A device, comprising:
- a pattern recognition processor configured to process a plurality of data flows;
- a buffer accessible by the pattern-recognition processor and configured to store a plurality of records, wherein each record is configured to store results data and an identifier associating the results data with one of the plurality of data flows.
A method of processing data, comprising:
- receiving a data flow;
- assigning an identifier to the data flow;
- writing the identifier to a register;
- and
- searching the data flow according to search criteria to produce search results.
A method, comprising:
- searching packets of a first data flow to produce first search results, wherein the first data flow is assigned a first flow identifier and is identified as an active flow;
- receiving packets of a second data flow;
- assigning a second flow identifier for the second data flow;
- switching to the second data flow as the active flow;
- and
- searching packets of the second data flow.
