A device for cooling, in particular for cooling bodies or body parts of a human or an animal, comprising at least one supporting material with super absorber (SAP) which is able to absorb, bind and release again moisture or liquid, wherein a cooling effect occurs by evaporating when the moisture is released, wherein the supporting material is enveloped by a cover fabric and the cover fabric has at least one moisture permeable or air and water steam permeable area, characterized in that at least one measuring instrument and/or sensor for measuring physical measuring values is provided at or in the device.

The method for monitoring the cool efficiency, in particular a device for cooling, in particular for cooling bodies or body parts of a human or an animal, comprising at least one supporting material with super absorber (SAP) which is able to absorb, bind and release again moisture or liquid, wherein a cooling effect occurs by evaporating when the moisture is released, wherein the supporting material is enveloped by a cover fabric and the cover fabric has at least one moisture permeable or air and water steam permeable area, wherein at least one measuring instrument and/or sensor for measuring physical measuring values is provided at or in the device, characterized in that in an evaluating unit the measuring values transmitted by the at least one measuring instrument or sensor are evaluated in such a way that the cooling efficiency is determined and the user of the device is informed of the cooling efficiency.
