Abstract
An emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation, comprising a) a phenylsemicarbazone compound of the formula (I), where R1 and R2 are, independently of one another, hydrogen, cyano, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy and R3 is C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy, or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof, b) a solvent system, comprising b1) γ-butyrolactone, b2) one or more aliphatic and/or aromatic ketones, and b3) optionally one or more aromatic hydrocarbons c) one or more emulsifiers, d) optionally, further formulation additives, has a high storage stability and excellent performance against insect pests.

An emulsifiable concentrate formulation, comprising
- a) a phenylsemicarbazone compound of the formula (I),
- where R1 and R2 are, independently of one another, hydrogen, cyano, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy and R3 is C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy,
- or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof,
- b) a solvent system, comprising
- b1) γ-butyrolactone,
- b2) one or more aliphatic and/or aromatic ketones, and
- b3) optionally one or more aromatic hydrocarbons
- c) one or more emulsifiers, and
- d) optionally, further formulation additives.
A process for preparing an emulsifiable concentrate formulation, comprising the steps of:
- I) mixing:
- a) a phenylsemicarbazone compound of the formula (I),
- where R1 and R2 are, independently of one another, hydrogen, cyano, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy and R3 is C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy,
- or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof,
- b) a solvent system, comprising
- b1) γ-butyrolactone,
- b2) one or more aliphatic and/or aromatic ketones, and
- b3) optionally one or more aromatic hydrocarbons
- c) one or more emulsifiers, and
- d) optionally, further formulation additives;
- and;
- II) optionally stirring and/or heating when mixing.
A method for controlling insect pests, comprising the steps of:
- I) preparing an elusifiable concentrate comprising:
- a) a phenylsemicarbazone compound of the formula (I),
- where R1 and R2 are, independently of one another, hydrogen, cyano, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy and R3 is C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy,
- or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof,
- b) a solvent system, comprising
- b1) γ-butyrolactone,
- b2) one or more aliphatic and/or aromatic ketones, and
- b3) optionally one or more aromatic hydrocarbons
- c) one or more emulsifiers,
- d) optionally, further formulation additives;
- II) diluting the emulsifiable concentrate formulation, and;
- III) applying it directly or indirectly to the insect pest.
