Liquid Therapeutic Composition

A method of treating a cold or cold-like symptoms in an individual, the method comprising administering to the individual a safe and effective amount of a liquid composition comprising a therapeutic component dispersed in a liquid carrier system, wherein:

• the liquid carrier system comprising water and a solvent,
• the solvent comprising at least 90 wt % propylene glycol and less than 2 wt % ethanol, if ethanol is present in the solvent, and
• the therapeutic component comprising acetaminophen and phenylephrine,
• the weight ratio of solvent to phenylephrine is between 100:1 to 2000:1, and
• the weight ratio of solvent to acetaminophen is between 5:1 and 25:1.

A soft gelatin capsule comprising a soft gelatin shell and between 5 ml and 30 ml a liquid composition comprising a therapeutic component dispersed in a liquid carrier system, wherein:

• the liquid carrier system comprising water and a solvent,
• the solvent comprising at least 90 wt % propylene glycol and less than 2 wt % ethanol, if ethanol is present in the solvent, and
• the therapeutic component comprising acetaminophen and phenylephrine,
• the weight ratio of solvent to phenylephrine is between 100:1 to 2000:1, and
• the weight ratio of solvent to acetaminophen is between 5:1 and 25:1,
• wherein the liquid composition is enclosed by the soft gelatin shell.
