Abstract
In an example embodiment, an example method is provided for echo mitigation in a conference call. In this method, a test audio signal is transmitted to a conference endpoint and as a result, an echo associated with the transmittal of the test audio signal is received. One or more parameters of the echo are then identified and an echo mitigation process is selected from multiple echo mitigation processes based on the identified parameters. The selected echo mitigation process is then applied.
Claims26
A method comprising:
- transmitting a test audio signal to a conference endpoint;
- receiving an echo associated with the transmittal of the test audio signal;
- identifying a parameter of the echo;
- selecting an echo mitigation process from a plurality of echo mitigation processes based on the parameter;
- and
- applying the selected echo mitigation process.
Logic encoded in one or more tangible media for execution and when executed operable to:
- transmit a test audio signal to a conference endpoint;
- receive an echo associated with the transmittal of the test audio signal;
- identify a parameter associated with the echo;
- select an echo mitigation process from a plurality of echo mitigation processes based on the parameter;
- and
- apply the selected echo mitigation process.
An apparatus comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- a memory in communication with the at least one processor, the memory being configured to store a mixer and speech analyzer module and an echo canceler module that are executable by the at least one processor,
- the mixer and speech analyzer module having instructions, that when executed by the at least one processor, cause operations to be performed, comprising:
- transmitting a test audio signal to a conference endpoint;
- receiving an echo associated with the transmittal of the test audio signal;
- selecting an echo mitigation process from a plurality of echo mitigation processes based on the parameter;
- and
- transmitting a request identifying the selected echo mitigation process to the echo canceler module,
- the echo canceler module having instructions, that when executed by the at least one processor, cause operations to be performed, comprising:
- receiving the request identifying the selected echo mitigation process;
- and
- applying the selected echo mitigation process.
A method comprising:
- transmitting a test audio signal to a conference endpoint upon connection of the conference endpoint to a conference bridge;
- receiving an echo associated with the transmittal of the test audio signal;
- identifying a parameter of the echo;
- comparing the parameter to a threshold value;
- and
- muting an audio signal received from the conference endpoint based on the comparison.
An apparatus comprising:
- a mixer and speech analyzer module to transmit a test audio signal to a conference endpoint and to receive an echo associated with the transmittal of the test audio signal;
- a first means for identifying a parameter of the echo;
- a second means for selecting an echo mitigation process from a plurality of echo mitigation processes based on the parameter;
- and
- an echo canceler module to apply the selected echo mitigation process.
