Abstract
A method of transmitting a reference signal in a wireless communication system includes generating a frequency-do-main reference signal by performing discrete Fourier transform (DFT) on a time-domain reference signal, generating a transmit signal by performing inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) on the frequency-domain reference signal and transmitting the transmit signal.

A method of transmitting a reference signal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- generating a reference signal in a radio resource, the radio resource comprising a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in time domain and a plurality of subcarriers in frequency domain;
- and
- transmitting the reference signal in the radio resource,
- wherein the reference signal is generated by spreading with a frequency spreading code and an orthogonal spreading code in the radio resource, and
- wherein the reference signal is hopped in the frequency domain in accordance with a cell specific hopping pattern.
A transmitter for transmitting a reference signal in a wireless communication system, the transmitter comprising a spreading unit configured to:
- generate a reference signal in a radio resource, the radio resource comprising a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CF M) symbols in time domain and a plurality of subcarriers in frequency domain;
- and
- transmit the reference signal in the radio resource,
- wherein the reference signal is generated by spreading with a frequency spreading code and an orthogonal spreading code in the radio resource, and
- wherein the reference signal is hopped in the frequency domain in accordance with a cell specific hopping pattern.
