Usage of feedback information for multimedia sessions

A method, comprising:

• generating a first packet as a non-compound real-time transport control protocol packet;
• generating the non-compound real-time transport control protocol packet to comprise at least one of a sender report, a receiver report, a session description protocol security description for media streams, an application defined real-time transport control protocol packet, or an individual real-time transport control protocol packet;
• and
• transmitting the non-compound real-time transport control protocol packet in a sample order within a defined time interval.

A computer program embodied on a computer-readable medium, the computer program configured to control a processor to implement a method, the method comprising:

• generating a first packet as a non-compound transport control protocol packet;
• generating the non-compound transport control protocol packet to comprise at least one of a sender report, a receiver report, a session description protocol security description for media streams, an application defined real-time transport control protocol packet, or an individual real-time transport control protocol packet;
• and
• transmitting the non-compound transport control protocol packet in a sample order within a defined time interval.
