Abstract
The present invention relates to absorbent articles comprising at least a liquid acquisition layer and an underlying liquid storage layer, said absorbent article comprising lactic acid producing bacteria. The lactic acid producing bacteria are dispersed in a hydrophobic carrier and the article further comprises at least one super-absorbent polymer. At least a part of the total amount of super-absorbent polymer and at least a part of the total amount of the bacteria are present in the liquid storage layer.

An absorbent article comprising lactic acid producing bacteria dispersed in a hydrophobic carrier, further comprising at least one super absorbent polymer, said absorbent article having a multi-layered structure comprising at least a liquid acquisition layer and an underlying liquid storage layer, wherein at least a part of the total amount of said super-absorbent polymer and at least a part of the total amount of said bacteria are present in said liquid storage layer.
Use of a super-absorbent polymer in an absorbent article comprising lactic acid producing bacteria dispersed in a hydrophobic carrier, said absorbent article having a multi-layered structure comprising at least a liquid acquisition layer and an underlying liquid storage layer for increasing the diffusion and release rate of lactic acid producing bacteria dispersed in a hydrophobic carrier.
