Synchronized home and vehicle audio visual system and method

A computer-readable storage medium, comprising computer instructions for:

• synchronizing via the Internet a profile of preferences and recordings forming audio-visual information maintained at a customer premises with a video on demand system within a vehicle;
• and
• downloading audio-visual information synchronized with the video on demand system via a first wireless transmission system to the vehicle in response to a request sent using a second wireless transmission system.

A system, comprising a controller to:

• maintain a profile of preferences and recordings at a customer premises at a digital video recorder (DVR) or set top box (STB) with respect to a video on demand system, the video on demand system having access to the profile of preferences and recordings through the Internet;
• and
• receiving updates at the DVR or STB that synchronizes the profile at the customer premises with a profile maintained at a video on demand system within a vehicle.
