Abstract
The failure diagnosis system of cooling fans of the present invention includes a first cooling device, a second cooling device and a control device. The first cooling device has a first cooling fan, and the second cooling device has a second cooling fan. The control device executes a first failure diagnosis which checks failure of the second cooling fan based on the rotation rate of the second cooling fan at the time at which the rotation rate of the first cooling fan is reduced.

A failure diagnosis system for cooling fans, comprising:
- a first cooling device having a first cooling fan;
- a second cooling device having a second cooling fan;
- and
- a control device executing a first failure diagnosis which checks the failure of said second cooling fan based on the rotation rate of said second cooling fan at the time at which the rotation rate of said first cooling fan is reduced.
The failure diagnosis system for cooling fans, comprising:
- a plurality of cooling fans;
- and
- a control device executing a failure diagnosis of the other cooling fans based on the rotation rate of the other cooling fans at the time at which the rotation of at least one of said plurality of cooling fans is reduced or stopped.
The failure diagnosis device for cooling fans, comprising:
- a first control unit controlling the rotation of plural cooling fans;
- and
- a second control unit executing the failure diagnosis of the other cooling fans based on the rotation rate of the other cooling fans at the time at which the rotation of at least one of said plurality of cooling fans is reduced or stopped.
The failure diagnosis method for a system including a first cooling fan and a second cooling fan, comprising:
- reducing the rotation rate of said first cooling fan;
- and
- executing as a first failure diagnosis the failure diagnosis of said second cooling fan based on the rotation rate of said second cooling fan at the time at which the rotation rate of said first cooling fan is reduced.
The failure diagnosis method for the cooling fan in a system which including cooling fans and a control device which controls said cooling fans, comprising:
- reducing or stopping the rotation rate of at least one cooling fan of said plurality of cooling fans;
- and
- executing a failure diagnosis of the other cooling fans based on the rotation rate of the other cooling fans when the rotation of at least one of said plurality of cooling fans is reduced or stopped.
A computer readable medium recording thereon a program for enabling a computer to execute a failure diagnosis method of a system including a first cooling fan and a second cooling fan, the method comprising:
- reducing the rotation rate of said first cooling fan;
- and
- executing as a first failure diagnosis the failure diagnosis of said second cooling fan based on the rotation rate of said second cooling fan at the time at which the rotation rate of said first cooling fan is reduced.
The cooling device connected with said control device, comprising:
- a plurality of cooling fans;
- a monitoring unit which monitors said cooling fans;
- and
- a memory unit in which the threshold value information of the rotation rate is stored,
- wherein said monitoring unit checks as a failure diagnosis the normality of said cooling fans, respectively, based on said threshold value information, and each send an error signal to said control device when the rotation rate is not normal.
The cooling device which is installed in an information processing system, comprising:
- a plurality of cooling fans;
- a monitoring unit which monitors said cooling fans;
- and
- a memory unit in which the threshold value information of the rotation rate is stored,
- wherein said monitoring unit checks the normality of said cooling fans, respectively, based on said threshold value information, and said monitoring unit sends an error signal to said control device when the rotation rate is not normal.
