Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for automation of objective hearing test based on the assessment of auditory evoked potential (AEP), for shortening of testing time, and for the minimization of inaccuracy and errors which may be resulted from the automation and time shortening. The method includes the steps for: as a preliminary test, presenting standard test stimulus to a subject; searching the wave V peak and SN1 0 peak; and as a main test, presenting test stimulus of each frequency, searching the minimal intensity and determining objective hearing threshold of each frequency.
Claims10
A method for automated hearing test by using ABR, the method comprising the steps of:
- (a) setting an A section including a Wave V peak and a B section including a SN10 peak using generation time of the Wave V peak is determined by averaged potential (EEG) data, wherein the B section follows the A section, and the potential is generated by standard test stimulus;
- and
- (b) searching a minimal intensity where potential difference between the A and B section does not exceed a preset critical value, determining the minimal intensity as hearing threshold of each frequency.
An apparatus for automated hearing test by using ABR, the apparatus comprising:
- stimulus presentation part outputting a test stimulus having a preset intensity in accordance with a random time intervals;
- EEG (electroencephalogram) analysis part setting an A section including a Wave V peak and a B section including a SN10 peak using generation time of the Wave V peak is determined by averaged potential (EEG) data, wherein the B section follows the A section, and the potential is generated by standard test stimulus;
- and
- hearing threshold determination part searching a minimal intensity where potential difference between the A and B section does not exceed a preset critical value, and determining a minimal intensity as hearing threshold of each frequency.
