The present invention provides a process for purifying olmesartan medoxomil.

A process for purifying olmesartan medoxomil comprising:
- a) providing a solution of olmesartan medoxomil in a C3-6 ketone;
- b) adding water to the solution;
- and
- c) recovering purified olmesartan medoxomil.
