Abstract
A method for improving liver clearance of xenobiotic substances in an animal by feeding the animal lipoic acid in amounts of from about 10 mg to about 1000 mg per day.

- a life sustaining amount of nutrients;
- and greater than 50 ppm of lipoic acid.
