Abstract
The present application relates to a steam treated pelletized feed composition comprising a granule comprising a core and a coating wherein the core comprises an active compound and the coating comprises a salt.
Claims26
A steam treated pelletized feed composition comprising a granule comprising a core and a coating wherein the core comprises an active compound and the coating consists essentially of salt selected from the group consisting of NaCl, Na2CO3, NaNO3, Na2HPO4, NH4Cl, (NH4)2HPO4, NH4H2PO4, (NH4)2SO4, KCl, K2HPO4, KH2PO4, KNO3, Na2SO4, K2SO4, KHSO4, MgSO4, ZnSO4, sodium citrate, and mixtures thereof, wherein the pelletized feed composition is characterized as steam treated and the active compound retains at least 75% of its activity after steam treatment.
A method for manufacturing a feed composition comprising the steps of:
- i:
- mixing feed components with granules comprising a core and a coating wherein the core comprises an active compound having an initial activity and the coating consists essentially of salt selected from the group consisting of NaCl, Na2CO3, NaNO3, Na2HPO4, NH4Cl, (NH4)2HPO4, NH4H2PO4, (NH4)2SO4, KCl, K2HPO4, KH2PO4, KNO3, Na2SO4, K2SO4, KHSO4, MgSO4, ZnSO4, NaCl, sodium citrate, and mixtures thereof;
- ii. steam treating said composition (i);
- and
- iii. pelleting said composition (ii);
- wherein active compound retains at least 75% of its initial activity.
