Abstract
An implantable prosthesis including a longitudinally compressed generally tubular substrate defining a longitudinal axis, a plurality of expandable segments disposed over the substrate and spaced apart along the longitudinal axis, and a graft member positioned over the segments. The graft member may include a lattice structure. Adjacent expandable segments may be connected by one or more filaments.
Claims50
An implantable prosthesis, comprising:
- a longitudinally compressed generally tubular substrate defining a longitudinal axis;
- a plurality of expandable segments disposed over the substrate and spaced apart along the longitudinal axis;
- and
- a graft member positioned over the segments, the graft member including a network of cells and hinges, each cell configured to cover at least a portion of an expandable segment, adjacent cells connected to one another by at least one hinge.

A method of forming an implantable prosthesis, comprising:
- compressing a generally tubular substrate defining a longitudinal axis from a first length to a second length shorter than the first length;
- disposing a plurality of expandable segments over the substrate, spaced apart along the longitudinal axis;
- and
- positioning a graft member with a lattice structure over the segments to cover at least a portion of each expandable segment.

A method of forming an implantable prosthesis, comprising:
- compressing a generally tubular ePTFE member from a first length to a second length shorter than the first length;
- disposing a plurality of expandable segments over the substrate, spaced apart along a longitudinal axis thereof;
- and
- tensioning a graft member with a lattice structure over the segments to cover at least a portion of each expandable segment.
