Abstract
A tunneling system for use with a catheter includes an elongate tunneling member defining a longitudinal axis along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof. The elongate member has a first end and a second end. The tunneling system further includes a connector configured for releasably engaging the second end of the elongate tunneling member to the catheter.
Claims22
A tunneling system for use with a catheter having at least one longitudinal lumen, the tunneling system comprising:
- an elongate tunneling member defining a longitudinal axis along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof, the elongate tunneling member having a first end and a second end;
- and
- a connector including a tunneling connector segment adapted for releasable coupling to the second end of the elongate tunneling member and a catheter connector segment, the catheter connector segment adapted for coupling with the catheter in secured relation therewith.
A tunneling system for use with a catheter having at least one longitudinal lumen, the tunneling system comprising:
- an elongate tunneling member defining a longitudinal axis along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof, the elongate member having a first end dimensioned for passage through tissue and a second end;
- and
- a connector including a non-threaded tunneling connector segment adapted for releasable coupling to the second end of the elongate tunneling member and a catheter connector segment, the catheter connector segment adapted for coupling with the catheter in secured relation therewith.
A tunneling system for use with a catheter having at least one longitudinal lumen, the tunneling system comprising:
- an elongate tunneling member having an outer wall defining a longitudinal axis along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof, the elongate member having a first end dimensioned for passage through tissue, and a second end, the outer wall having a locking recess defined adjacent the second end thereof;
- and
- a connector including a tunneling connector segment adapted for releasable coupling to the second end of the elongate tunneling member and a catheter connector segment, the tunneling connector segment including a plurality of radially spaced axial ribs, each axial rib having a locking detent depending radially inwardly and adapted for reception within the locking recess of the elongate tunneling member to releasably secure the connector to the elongate tunneling member, the catheter connector segment adapted for coupling with the catheter in secured relation.
A tunneling system for use with a catheter having at least one longitudinal lumen, the tunneling system comprising:
- an elongate tunneling member including an outer wall and defining a longitudinal axis along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof, the elongate tunneling member having a first end and a second end, the second end including at least one locking element extending from the outer wall and having a locking detent, the second end further having a locking recess defined therein;
- and
- a connector including a tunneling connector segment adapted for releasable coupling to the second end of the elongate tunneling member and a catheter connector segment, the tunneling connector segment including a locking projection adapted for reception within the locking recess of the second longitudinal end of the tunneling member, and at least one peripheral recess adapted for reception of the locking detent of the at least one locking element of the second end of the tunneling member.
A tunneling system for use with a catheter having at least one longitudinal lumen, the tunneling system comprising:
- an elongate tunneling member including an outer wall and defining a longitudinal axis along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof, the elongate member having a first end and a second end;
- a connector including a tunneling connector segment and a catheter connector segment, the catheter connector segment adapted for coupling with the catheter in secured relation therewith;
- and
- wherein one of the second end of the elongate tunneling member and the tunneling connector segment of the connector includes a ball and wherein the other of the second end of the elongate tunneling member and the tunneling connector segment of the connector includes a socket adapted to receive the ball to establish a releasable coupling therebetween.
