Abstract
The present invention is related to a lipid composition comprising at least a first lipid component, at least a first helper lipid, and a shielding compound which is removable from the lipid composition under in vivo conditions.

A lipid composition comprising:
- a lipid component,
- a first helper lipid, and
- a shielding compound,
- wherein said shielding compound provides for a prolonged circulation time in vivo of said lipid composition, and wherein said shielding compound optionally is cleaved from said lipid composition under physiological conditions.
