The present invention relates to the use of a nasal spray made from Cistus extracts for the prevention and/or treatment of viral and/or bacterial diseases of the oral and pharyngeal cavities.

Nasal sprays made from extracts from plants or plant components of the genus Cistus having a particle size of at least 30 μm for the prevention and/or treatment of viral and/or bacterial diseases of the nasal and/or pharyngeal cavities.
A process for the prevention and/or treatment of viral and/or bacterial diseases of the nasal and/or pharyngeal cavities by applying a nasal spray made from extracts from plants or plant components of the genus Cistus having a particle size of at least 30 μm.
