Abstract
An IL-1β binding antibody or IL-1β binding fragment thereof comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, and related nucleic acids, vectors, cells, and compositions, as well as method of using same to treat or prevent a disease, and a method of preparing an affinity matured IL-1β binding polypeptide. IL-1β binding antibodies or IL-1β binding fragments thereof are provided which have desirable affinity and potency.

An IL-1β binding antibody or IL-1β binding fragment thereof, wherein the antibody or fragment binds to human IL-1β with a dissociation constant of about 1 μM or less, and the antibody or fragment binds to substantially the same epitope that an antibody having the light chain variable region of SEQ ID NO:11 and the heavy chain variable region of SEQ ID NO:15 binds to.
An IL-1β binding antibody or IL-1β binding fragment thereof, wherein the antibody or fragment binds to an IL-1β epitope such that the bound antibody or fragment substantially permits the binding of IL-1β to IL-1 receptor I (IL-1RI), and the antibody or fragment binds to human IL-1β with a dissociation constant of about 1 μM or less.
