Abstract
A stored value card jacket and counter device is disclosed that includes a jacket and a counter disposed on the jacket and functions to receive and protect a stored value card and to display information, through a counter display region, pertaining to the stored value card such as a monetary value, including the remaining balance, that is associated with the stored value card.

A stored value card holding device comprising:
- at least one jacket comprising a slot and an opening;
- and
- at least one counter device comprising one or more indicia,
- wherein the at least one counter device is disposed on the at least one jacket.

- a plurality of jackets each comprising a slot and an opening;
- at least one counter device disposed on at least one of the plurality of jackets;

- wherein the plurality of jackets are contained in a unit.
