Packaging machine

A packaging machine for closing a container having a cover, comprising:

• a supply unit for supplying the container with a loosely placed cover;
• a rotating crimping head with a plurality of receptacles, each for a respective container, with a plurality of clamping devices, each of which holds a respective container in a receptacle, and with a crimping device, which crimps the cover onto the container in order to close the container;
• a plurality of sensor devices, with each sensor device situated on a respective clamping device, with each sensor device detecting a rotation of a container and/or a clamping force of a container in the crimping head, and with each sensor device including a transmitter for transmitting signals;
• and
• a control unit, which includes a receiver for receiving the signals transmitted by the transmitter.
