Abstract
Embodiments of the invention include compositions of calcium/lithium complex greases containing calcium/lithium soaps having a high calcium fraction and complexing agents, encapsulated constant velocity shafts containing such lubricating greases and the use of the lubricating greases in encapsulated shafts of constant velocity shafts.

A calcium/lithium complex grease composition comprising:
- at least one base oil;
- at least one additive;
- at least one thickener, wherein the thickener is a complex soap comprising a calcium/lithium soap and at least one complexing agent;
- and
- Ca(OH)2

A method for obtaining a calcium/lithium complex grease composition comprising:
- at least one base oil;
- at least one additive;
- at least one thickener, wherein the thickener is a complex soap comprising a calcium/lithium soap and at least one complexing agent, and
- Ca(OH)2,
- wherein at least one calcium compound and at least one lithium compound are jointly reacted “in situ” with carboxylic acids and the calcium compound(s) is used in molar excess, wherein the grease composition has a calcium to lithium molar ratio of greater than 1.0 to 5.0:1, relative to the ratio of all calcium and lithium atoms in the present calcium and lithium compounds.
