Abstract
A carbon fiber composite material includes an elastomer and carbon nanofibers uniformly dispersed in the elastomer. The carbon nanofibers are produced by a vapor growth method and then heated at a temperature that is in a range from 1100 to 1600° C. and is higher than the reaction temperature employed in the vapor growth method.
Claims13
A carbon fiber composite material comprising:
- an elastomer;
- and
- carbon nanofibers uniformly dispersed in the elastomer,
- the carbon nanofibers being produced by a vapor growth method and then heated at a temperature that is in a range from 1100 to 1600° C. and is higher than a reaction temperature employed in the vapor growth method.
Carbon nanofibers obtained by heating untreated carbon nanofibers produced by a vapor growth method at a temperature that is in a range from 1100 to 1600° C. and is higher than a reaction temperature employed in the vapor growth method.
A method of producing carbon nanofibers comprising:
- heating untreated carbon nanofibers produced by a vapor growth method at a temperature that is in a range from 1100 to 1600° C. and is higher than a reaction temperature employed in the vapor growth method.
