Abstract
A cover for the ski of a snowmobile mountable to the ski portion thereby protecting the ski portion from damage due to exposure to the elements, especially damage from the sun during off-season storage.
Claims16
A ski cover for a snowmobile ski having a front ski portion and two rear blade portions, said ski cover being a tubular bag comprising:
- a) two leg sections having pockets for enclosing the rear blade portion of the snowmobile ski;
- b) a front section for enclosing the front ski portion of the snowmobile ski;
- c) a juncture between said two leg sections and said front section such that said two leg sections extend divergently from said front section;
- and
- d) a slit in said ski cover extending from said front section and extending to the pockets of each of said two leg sections for inserting the snowmobile ski.
A method of making a ski cover for a snowmobile ski having a front ski portion and two rear blade portions, said ski cover being a tubular bag having two leg sections having pockets for enclosing the two rear blade portions of the snowmobile ski, a front section for enclosing the front ski portion of the snowmobile ski, a juncture between said two leg sections and said front section such that said two leg sections extend divergently from said front section, and a slit in said ski cover extending from said front section and extending to the pockets of each of said two leg sections for inserting the snowmobile ski, comprising:
- a) providing a planar sheet of appropriate material for said ski cover;
- b) cutting said material in a pattern forming said ski cover;
- and
- c) sewing said cut pattern to form said tubular bag.
