Abstract
Reformulated fuel system for engines.
Claims48
A fuel reformulation system for an engine comprising:
- an annular body for the flow of fluids therethrough connected to the engine;
- a source of fuel for flowing through at least a portion of the annular body;
- and
- a catalytic member connected to the annular body for the flow of any fluids thereacross from the annular body.
A fuel reformulation system for an engine having an inlet air passageway for air to flow into a cylinder in the engine and a pre-combustion chamber having an inlet air passageway thereinto connected to the cylinder in the engine comprising:
- a first source of fuel for flowing through at least a portion of the inlet air passageway for air to flow into the cylinder;
- a first catalytic member located in the inlet air passageway for air to flow into the cylinder for the flow of any fluids thereacross from the first source of fuel;
- a second source of fuel for flowing through at least a portion of the inlet air passageway for air to flow into the pre-combustion chamber;
- and
- a second catalytic member located in the inlet air passageway for air to flow into the pre-combustion chamber for the flow of any fluids thereacross from the second source of fuel.
A fuel reformulation system for an engine having an inlet air passageway for air to flow into a cylinder in the engine and a pre-combustion chamber having an inlet air passageway thereinto connected to the cylinder in the engine comprising:
- a first source of fuel for flowing through at least a portion of the inlet air passageway for air to flow into the cylinder;
- and
- a first catalytic member located in the inlet air passageway for air to flow into the cylinder for the flow of any fluids thereacross from the first source of fuel.
A fuel reformulation system for an engine comprising:
- an annular body for the flow of fluids therethrough located in an engine;
- a source of fuel for flowing through at least a portion of the annular body;
- and
- a catalytic member connected to the annular body for the flow of any fluids thereacross from the annular body.
A method of reformulating fuel for an engine comprising:
- flowing air into an annular body connected to the engine;
- flowing fuel for flowing through at least a portion of the annular body;
- mixing the air and the fuel in the annular body;
- and
- flowing the mixture of air and fuel across at least a portion of a catalytic member connected to the annular body.
