Abstract
A method, device, and computer program product for performing asynchronous remote copy verification is provided. An initial track-to-track comparison between a primary and a secondary volume pair is performed. Differences between primary and secondary volume tracks are recorded as noncompare tracks. A first predetermined time is waited for. A subsequent track-to-track comparison of the noncompare tracks is performed.
Claims20
A method for performing asynchronous remote copy verification, comprising:
- performing an initial track-to-track comparison between a primary and a secondary volume pair;
- recording differences between primary and secondary volume tracks as noncompare tracks;
- waiting a first predetermined time;
- and
- performing a subsequent track-to-track comparison of the noncompare tracks.
A device for performing asynchronous remote copy verification, comprising:
- a verification module adapted for:
- performing an initial track-to-track comparison between a primary and a secondary volume pair,
- recording differences between primary and secondary volume tracks as noncompare tracks,
- waiting a first predetermined time, and
- performing a subsequent track-to-track comparison of the noncompare tracks.
A computer program product for asynchronous remote copy verification, the computer program product comprising a computer-readable storage medium having computer-readable program code portions stored therein, the computer-readable program code portions comprising:
- a first executable portion for performing an initial track-to-track comparison between a primary and a secondary volume pair;
- a second executable portion for recording differences between primary and secondary volume tracks as noncompare tracks;
- a third executable portion for waiting a first predetermined time;
- and
- a fourth executable portion for performing a subsequent track-to-track comparison of the noncompare tracks.
