Access right managing method for accessing multiple programs

A management method for a computer system which includes a storage system including hard disk drives configuring a plurality of logical units, which is managed by a management computer as a storage resource;

• the management computer including a first storage management program, a second storage management program, a system management program, first access control information, second access control information, and resource correspondence information, the method comprising:
• controlling, by the first storage management program, the management computer to manage a first management resource, which is a part of the storage resource, based on the first access control information indicating access rights of a plurality of storage administrators to the first management resource,
• controlling, by the second storage management program, the management computer to manage a second management resource, which is an another part of the storage resource, based on the second access control information indicating access rights of the plurality of storage administrators to the second management resource,
• controlling, by the system management program, the management computer to manage the storage resource based on the resource correspondence information, which indicates correspondences between the plurality of logical units managed as the storage resource and management programs which include the first storage management program and the second storage management program,
• receiving at the management computer, by the system management program, an access control update request identifying a certain logical unit which is one of the plurality of logical units and a certain storage administrator which is one of the plurality of storage administrators,
• selecting, with the management computer, by the system management program, one of the first storage management program and the second storage management program, which controls the management computer to manage the certain logical unit, to request the update of an access right of the certain storage administrator about the certain logical unit to the one of the first storage management program and the second storage management program, based on the resource correspondence information, and
• updating, with the management computer, by the one of the first storage management program and the second storage management program, the one of the first access control information and the second access control information.

A management computer for a computer system which includes a storage system including hard disk drives configuring a plurality of logical units, which is managed by a management computer as a storage resource the management computer comprising:

• a first storage management program;
• a second storage management program;
• a system management program;
• first access control information;
• second access control information;
• and
• resource correspondence information,
• wherein the first storage management program is configured to control the management computer to manage a first management resource, which is a part of the storage resource, based on the first access control information indicating access rights of a plurality of storage administrators to the first management resource,
• wherein the second storage management program is configured to control the management computer to manage a second management resource, which is an another part of the storage resource, based on the second access control information indicating access rights of the plurality of storage administrators to the second management resource,
• wherein the system management program is configured to control the management computer to manage the storage resource based on the resource correspondence information, which indicates correspondences between the plurality of logical units managed as the storage resource and management programs which include the first storage management program and the second storage management program,
• wherein, by the system management program, the management computer receives an access control update request identifying a certain logical unit which is one of the plurality of logical units and a certain storage administrator which is one of the plurality of storage administrators,
• wherein, by the system management program, the management computer selects one of the first storage management program and the second storage management program, which controls the management computer to manage the certain logical unit, to request the update of an access right of the certain storage administrator about the certain logical unit to the one of the first storage management program and the second storage management program, based on the resource correspondence information, and
• wherein by the one of the first storage management program and the second storage management program, the management computer updates the one of the first access control information and the second access control information.
