## CPC

- C08L 33/02: Homopolymers or copolymers of acids; Metal or ammonium salts thereof
- C08L: COMPOSITIONS OF MACROMOLECULAR COMPOUNDS (compositions based on polymerisable monomers C08F, C08G; artificial filaments or fibres D01F; textile treating compositions D06)

## Abstract

A two-pack type plastisol composition comprising two liquid compositions (LA) and (LB), characterized in that the composition obtained by mixing the compositions (LA) and (LB) has a gelation time (as measured at 30.degree. C.) of 1 hour or shorter. It is a novel material which gels at ordinary temperature in 1 hour, preferably in several minutes, to come to have practically sufficient performances. The composition (LA) preferably comprises fine acrylic polymer particles (A) and a dispersion medium (B) in which the particles (A) are substantially insoluble at ordinary temperature (provided that the particles (A) may be soluble in the medium (B) at elevated temperatures). The composition (LB) preferably comprises an organic solvent (C) in which the particles (A) have sufficiently high solubility at ordinary temperature.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of using a two-pack type plastisol composition, comprising:
a liquid composition (LA); and
a liquid composition (LB);
wherein:
the liquid composition (LA) comprises fine acrylic polymer particles (A) and a dispersion medium (B) in which the particles (A) are substantially insoluble at room temperature, provided that the dispersion medium (B) may have dissolving power to the particles (A) when heated;
the liquid composition (LB) comprises an organic solvent (C) having sufficiently high dissolving power to dissolve the particles (A) at room temperature;
the method comprising:
mixing the liquid compositions (LA) and (LB) just before use; and
extruding the mixed compositions to adhere to a base material.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the base material is an inorganic material.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein:
the organic solvent (C) comprises a compound comprising a radical-polymerizable double bond; and
either the liquid composition (LA) or the liquid composition (LB) comprises a radical-polymerization initiator.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the organic solvent (C) is a plasticizer.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the organic solvent (C) comprises an epoxy group or a hydroxy group.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the liquid composition (LA), the liquid composition (LB), or the liquid composition (LA) and the liquid composition (LB) comprise an epoxy resin.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the fine acrylic polymers (A) comprise fine acrylic polymer particles having a core/shell structure, the particles being obtained by emulsion polymerization.
