## Abstract

A smoking device for generating and releasing smoking vapor free from contamination into the mouth of a user comprising a mouthpiece for providing vapor for inhalation to a user including a tubular casing containing a heater for heating a smoking substance at a substantially constant low temperature by regulating the flow of fuel by a thermal regulator and further having means for visual indication of the operation of the device.

## Claims

### Claim 1

Method steps of vaporization of smoking substance at substantially low constant temperature associated with the tobacco, comprises:
loading a shaped smoking cartridge into the vapor chamber having a conforming surface for providing heat to the shaped smoking cartridge by conduction;
heating the cartridge for producing vapor; and
regulating the flow of fuel for substantially maintaining a constant temperature.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the operating temperature for vaporization is maintained substantially constant below 400 degrees F.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein a range of variation of the operating temperature is about less than +/−5 degrees F.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein a thermal regulator is designed to maintain a substantially constant low temperature of heating for vaporization by restricting the flow of fuel for ignition and generating heat from combustion.

### Claim 5

A method of creating the impression of smoking comprising:
deploying a device wherein the device generates a smokeless vapor by heating a substance containing a moist tobacco material and glycerine;
heating the substance to a target temperature to generate a vapor having impression of smoke from the substance; and
inhaling the vapor at a reduced draw rate from the device, thereby creating the impression of smoking.

### Claim 6

A method of vaporizing a tobacco material in a hand-held device comprising maintaining the tobacco material at a preselected temperature in the hand-held device for a user defined time interval.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein the preselected temperature is selected according to the vaporization temperature of the tobacco material.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein the preselected temperature is less than 400 degrees F.

### Claim 9 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein said hand-held device comprises a heater, wherein the heater utilizes butane fuel.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, wherein a user defines said user defined time interval as the time interval between manually operating an actuator of said hand-held device to ignite said butane fuel in said heater and manually stopping the flow of butane fuel to said heater.

### Claim 11 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein the preselected temperature is maintained without interruption during said user defined time interval.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, wherein the preselected temperature is maintained within 10 degrees F. during said user defined time interval.
