## Abstract

A hydraulic power output unit can be used in a hydraulic hybrid drive system for propelling a vehicle. The hydraulic power output unit includes a housing having an input shaft that extends within the housing and is adapted to be rotatably driven by a source of rotational power. A hydraulic pump is rotatably driven by the input driveshaft to pump hydraulic fluid. A vibration damper is provided within the housing for dampening vibrations in the input shaft.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A hydraulic power output unit comprising:
a housing;
an input shaft that extends within the housing and is adapted to be rotatably driven by a source of rotational power;
a hydraulic pump that is rotatably driven by the input driveshaft to pump hydraulic fluid; and
a vibration damper provided within the housing for dampening vibrations in the input shaft.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The hydraulic power output unit defined in claim 1 wherein the vibration damper is supported on the input shaft for rotation therewith.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The hydraulic power output unit defined in claim 2 wherein the vibration damper is splined onto the input shaft.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The hydraulic power output unit defined in claim 1 further including a drive gear that is supported on the input shaft for rotation therewith and a driven gear that is rotatably driven by the drive gear and is supported on a driveshaft for rotation therewith so as to rotatably drive the hydraulic pump.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The hydraulic power output unit defined in claim 1 wherein the hydraulic pump is a first hydraulic pump and further including a second hydraulic pump that is rotatably driven by the input driveshaft to pump hydraulic fluid.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The hydraulic power output unit defined in claim 5 further including a drive gear that is supported on the input shaft for rotation therewith, a first driven gear that is rotatably driven by the drive gear and is supported on a first driveshaft for rotation therewith so as to rotatably drive the first hydraulic pump, and a second driven gear that is rotatably driven by the drive gear and is supported on a second driveshaft for rotation therewith so as to rotatably drive the second hydraulic pump.

### Claim 7

A hydraulic power output unit and drive unit assembly comprising:
a hydraulic power output unit including a housing; an input shaft that extends within the housing and is adapted to be rotatably driven by a source of rotational power; a hydraulic pump that is rotatably driven by the input driveshaft to pump hydraulic fluid; and a vibration damper provided within the housing for dampening vibrations in the input shaft; and
a drive unit including an input shaft, a hydraulic motor that is rotatably driven by the hydraulic pump of the hydraulic power output unit and rotatably drives the input shaft, and an output shaft that is rotatably driven by the input shaft.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The hydraulic power output unit and drive unit assembly defined in claim 7 wherein the vibration damper is supported on the input shaft of the hydraulic power output unit for rotation therewith.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The hydraulic power output unit and drive unit assembly defined in claim 8 wherein the vibration damper is splined onto the input shaft of the hydraulic power output unit.

### Claim 10 (depends on 7)

The hydraulic power output unit and drive unit assembly defined in claim 7 wherein the hydraulic power output unit further includes a drive gear that is supported on the input shaft for rotation therewith and a driven gear that is rotatably driven by the drive gear and is supported on a driveshaft for rotation therewith so as to rotatably drive the hydraulic pump.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The hydraulic power output unit and drive unit assembly defined in claim 7 wherein the hydraulic pump is a first hydraulic pump and wherein the hydraulic power output unit further includes a second hydraulic pump that is rotatably driven by the input driveshaft to pump hydraulic fluid.
