Abstract
An apparatus and method for loading and configuring an imaging device driver to facilitate turnkey remote access via the internet to the complete and explicit feature set and capabilities provided by a specific, user selected, retail imaging kiosk or digital photofinishing system.
Claims21
A method for a walk-up, fully automated remote access enablement process, the method comprising the steps of:
- accessing replicable retail imaging device instructions and information, including a remote access facilitation and remote user accounts management software program, for an uniquely identified retail imaging device selected by a user as the retail imaging device the user wants to access;
- commanding said retail imaging device to create a user account and password and provide remote access instructions and information, including an unique retail imaging device network identification;
- writing the replicable remote access information for the unique retail imaging device identification to temporary storage device;
- communicating the remote access information to a user device;
- and
- initiating the remote access on said user device by accessing the temporary storage device contents for the unique retail imaging device identification.
A system for creating remote access enablement instructions for an uniquely identified retail imaging device selected by a user, comprising:
- a. personal temporary memory responsive to uniquely identified retail imaging device comprising a remote access facilitation and remote user accounts management software program through a connection at the retail imaging device that is alternately in communication with a computing network for activating the retail imaging device using said identification for remote access of the feature set including imaging compositing and hardcopy output.
- b. replicable retail imaging device remote access enablement instructions loaded on said memory comprising replicable retail imaging device remote access instructions transferred from said retail imaging device using a retail imaging device communication port and loaded on said temporary memory with an unique retail imaging device identification;
- c. user device capable of communication with said temporary memory, and alternately communication with said network, for receipt and utilization of said replicable retail imaging device remote access instructions comprising said unique retail imaging device identification
A computer readable and transportable media for fully automated remote access enablement process, comprising:
- a code segment for accessing replicable retail imaging device remote access instructions, including remote access facilitation and remote user accounts management software program, for an uniquely identified retail imaging device selected by a user as the retail imaging device the user wants to access;
- a code segment for commanding said retail imaging device to create the remote access enablement information including an unique retail imaging device identification;
- a code segment for writing the replicable remote access enablement information for the unique retail imaging device identification to temporary storage device;
- a code segment for accessing the retail imaging device remote application server via said user device by accessing the temporary storage device contents for the unique retail imaging device identification.
A method for a walk-up, fully automated remote access enablement process, the method comprising the steps of:
- accessing replicable kiosk instructions and information, including a remote access facilitation and remote user accounts management software program, for an uniquely identified kiosk selected by a user as the kiosk the user wants to access;
- commanding said kiosk to create a user account and password and provide remote access instructions and information, including an unique kiosk network identification;
- writing the replicable remote access information for the unique kiosk identification to temporary storage device;
- communicating the remote access information to a user device;
- and
- initiating the remote access on said user device by accessing the temporary storage device contents for the unique kiosk identification.
A system for creating remote access enablement instructions for an uniquely identified kiosk selected by a user, comprising:
- a. personal temporary memory responsive to uniquely identified kiosk comprising a remote access facilitation and remote user accounts management software program through a connection at the kiosk that is alternately in communication with a computing network for activating the kiosk using said identification for remote access of the feature set including imaging compositing and hardcopy output.
- b. replicable kiosk remote access enablement instructions loaded on said memory comprising replicable kiosk remote access instructions transferred from said kiosk using a kiosk communication port and loaded on said temporary memory with an unique kiosk identification;
- c. user device capable of communication with said temporary memory, and alternately communication with said network, for receipt and utilization of said replicable kiosk remote access instructions comprising said unique kiosk identification
