## CPC

- H04W 72/1215: {for collaboration of different radio technologies}
- H04W 16/14: Spectrum sharing arrangements {between different networks}
- H04W 88/06: adapted for operation in multiple networks {or having at least two operational modes}, e.g. multi-mode terminals

## Abstract

A network device includes a first communication module and a second communication module. The first communication module communicates with a first device using a first wireless communication standard. The first communication module receives data from the first device during a first time period and transmits data to the first device during a second time period. The second communication module communicates with a second device using a second wireless communication standard. The second communication module receives a block of packets from the second device during the first time period. The second communication module transmits an acknowledgement to the second device during the second time period when the block of the packets is received.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A network device comprising:
a first communication module that communicates with a first device using a first wireless communication standard, that receives data from said first device during a first time period, and that transmits data to said first device during a second time period; and
a second communication module that communicates with a second device using a second wireless communication standard, that receives a block of packets from said second device during said first time period, and that transmits an acknowledgement to said second device during said second time period when said block of said packets is received.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The network device of claim 1 wherein said first wireless communication standard includes one of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE), or Ultra Mobile Band (UMB), and Bluetooth® standards.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The network device of claim 1 wherein said second wireless communication standard includes one of I.E.E.E. 802.11 standards.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The network device of claim 1 wherein said second communication module transmits lengths of said first and second time periods to said second device.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The network device of claim 1 wherein said second device transmits a request for said acknowledgment to said network device before said first time period ends.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The network device of claim 1 wherein said second communication module transmits data during said second time period.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The network device of claim 1 further comprising an antenna that said first and second communication modules share when communicating with said first and second devices, respectively.

### Claim 8

A method comprising:
communicating with a first device using a first wireless communication standard;
receiving data from said first device during a first time period;
transmitting data to said first device during a second time period;
communicating with a second device using a second wireless communication standard;
receiving a block of packets from said second device during said first time period; and
transmitting an acknowledgement to said second device during said second time period when said block of said packets is received.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8 further comprising communicating with said first device using one of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE), or Ultra Mobile Band (UMB), and Bluetooth® standards.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8 further comprising communicating with said second device using one of I.E.E.E. 802.11 standards.

### Claim 11 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8 further comprising transmitting lengths of said first and second time periods to said second device.

### Claim 12 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8 further comprising transmitting a request for said acknowledgment to said network device before said first time period ends.

### Claim 13 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8 further comprising transmitting data during said second time period.

### Claim 14 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8 further comprising sharing an antenna when communicating with said first and second devices, respectively.
