Abstract
A reflective screen includes: a substrate having a first refractive index; and a periodic structure provided on a major surface of the substrate and including a periodic film which has a period Λ and is made of a material having a second refractive index that is higher than the first refractive index. The period Λ is not less than 400/(N+1) nm and not more than 680/(N−1) nm, where N is an equivalent refractive index of the periodic film.

A reflective screen comprising:
- a substrate having a first refractive index;
- and
- a periodic structure provided on a major surface of the substrate and including a periodic film, the periodic film having a period Λ and being made of a material having a second refractive index being higher than the first refractive index,
- the period Λ being not less than 400/(N+1) nanometers and not more than 680/(N−1) nanometers, the N being an equivalent refractive index of the periodic film.

- a light generator configured to generate light of wavelength λ including image information;
- and
- a reflective screen, the light being projected on the reflective screen at incident angle θ,
- the reflective screen including:
- a substrate having a first refractive index;
- and
- a periodic structure provided on a major surface of the substrate and including a periodic film, the periodic film having a period Λ and being made of a material having a second refractive index being higher than the first refractive index, and
- the period Λ being λ/(N+sin θ) or λ/(N−sin θ), the N being an equivalent refractive index of the periodic film.

- a display device including:
- a light generator configured to generate light of wavelength λ including image information;

- a reflective screen, the light being projected on the reflective screen at incident angle θ,
- the reflective screen including:
- a substrate having a first refractive index;
