Abstract
An inkjet printer comprising a printhead for allowing ink to be ejected from a nozzle portion to form an image on a recording medium, a cap member switchable between a sealing position for sealing nozzle surfaces of the nozzle portion and a free position where the cap member is moved away from the nozzle surfaces, and a closing mechanism for closing an opening of the cap member located in the free position.

An inkjet printer comprising:
- a printhead for allowing ink to be ejected from a nozzle portion to form an image on a recording medium;
- a cap member switchable between a sealing position for sealing nozzle surfaces of the nozzle portion and a free position where the cap member is moved away from the nozzle surfaces;
- and
- a closing mechanism for closing an opening of the cap member located in the free position.
