Abstract
A step assembly is easily mounted on the trailer hitch of a vehicle, and easily folded to a closed position or unfolded to an open position in place on the vehicle or off of the vehicle. In the open position, a person or a pet can more easily enter or leave a vehicle. In the closed position, the step assembly is more easily stored.
Claims20
A collapsible step assembly comprising:
- a) a mounting means being receivable by a trailer hitch;
- b) the mounting means supporting the collapsible step assembly;
- c) at least two collapsible steps for the collapsible step assembly communicating with the mounting means;
- and
- d) the at least two collapsible steps being movable from a closed position to an open position, and from the open position to the closed position.

In a vehicle requiring a high step to enter therein, the improvement comprising:
- a) a collapsible step assembly being releasably secured to the vehicle;
- b) the collapsible step assembly including a mounting means;
- c) the mounting means being receivable by a trailer hitch;
- d) the mounting means supporting the collapsible step assembly;
- e) at least two collapsible steps for the collapsible step assembly communicating with the mounting means;
- and
- f) the at least two collapsible steps being movable from a closed position to an open position, and from the open position to the closed position.
