Abstract
An electrode having an oriented array of multiple nanotubes is disclosed. Individual nanotubes have a lengthwise inner pore defined by interior tube walls which extends at least partially through the length of the nanotube. The nanotubes of the array may be oriented according to any identifiable pattern. Also disclosed is a device featuring an electrode and methods of fabrication.
Claims25
An electrode comprising an oriented array of multiple nanotubes.
A device comprising:
- a first electrode comprising an oriented array of multiple nanotubes;
- an electrolyte in electrochemical communication with the first electrode;
- and
- a second electrode in electrochemical communication with the electrolyte.
1 more element
An electrode device fabricated according to a method comprising:
- providing a metal surface;
- electrochemically anodizing the metal surface to form thereon an array of oriented nanotubes having substantially lengthwise pores wherein the nanotubes of the array are associated with the metal surface at one end of each nanotube.
