Print control apparatus, print control method, and computer-readable storage medium storing a print control program

A print control apparatus that gets document data from an application, converts the document data to a format acceptable to a printing apparatus, and sends the converted document data to the printing apparatus, the print control apparatus comprising:

• an obtaining unit, configured to obtain a document name of the document data;
• and
• a change unit, configured to change the document name by deleting a head portion of the document name obtained by the obtaining unit so that the document name fits within a maximum number of displayable characters of the printing apparatus when the maximum number of displayable characters of the printing apparatus is exceeded.

A print control method in which document data is obtained from an application, converted to a format acceptable to a printing apparatus, and the converted document data is sent to the printing apparatus, the method comprising the steps of:

• obtaining a document name of the document data;
• and
• changing the document name by deleting a head portion of the document name obtained in the obtaining step so that the document name fits within the maximum number of displayable characters of the printing apparatus when the maximum number of displayable characters is exceeded.

A computer-readable storage medium storing a program causing a computer to execute a print control method in which document data is obtained from an application, converted to a format acceptable to a printing apparatus, and the converted document data is sent to the printing apparatus, the method comprising the steps of:

• obtaining a document name of the document data;
• and
• changing the document name by deleting a head portion of the document name obtained in the obtaining step so that the document name fits within the maximum number of displayable characters of the printing apparatus when the maximum number of displayable characters is exceeded.

A print control method in which document data is obtained from an application, converted to a format acceptable to a printing apparatus, and the converted document data is sent to the printing apparatus, the method comprising the steps of:

• obtaining a document name of the document data;
• and
• obtaining, from a storage unit in which a setting for changing the document name of the document data and the application that is a source of the document data are stored in association, the setting in association with the application that is the source of the document data having the document name obtained in the obtaining step, and changing the document name obtained in the obtaining step based on the setting.

A computer-readable storage medium storing a program causing a computer to execute a print control method in which document data is obtained from an application, converted to a format acceptable to a printing apparatus, and the converted document data is sent to the printing apparatus, the method comprising the steps of:

• obtaining a document name of the document data;
• and
• obtaining, from a storage unit in which a setting for changing the document name of the document data and the application that is a source of the document data are stored in association, the setting in association with the application that is the source of the document data having the document name obtained in the obtaining step, and changing the document name obtained in the obtaining step based on the setting.
